Springfield's Favorite Family Makes Its Debut in Psyonix's Hit Game: Unfortunately Not the Car Fans Are Dreaming Of
We already knew that The Simpsons was teaming up with Fortnite, but this isn't the sole destination where enthusiasts can experience the world of Springfield. The long-running series is also making its way to the popular soccer-driving hybrid, bringing along an vehicle customization option that will also be usable in the Fortnite universe. However, whether players will truly desire to equip it is a different matter, as fans have their hearts set on just one Springfield vehicle everyone is itching to get behind the wheel of, and this new offering isn't that one.
The Dream Vehicle
While many gamers would absolutely enjoy to face off while driving Homer's custom creation—the notoriously impractical automobile the patriarch designed personally in the classic installment "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?"—that's not what's being offered. We aren't even getting the Canyonero, the enormous truck showcased in season 10. Rather, players are getting the family's standard well-worn four-door, which has been in the family since the show's early days. Though this specific vehicle has seen better days, it remains an iconic element of the show. For those who pay attention to Rocket League car hitboxes, the Simpson family car uses the same hitbox as the Dominus.

More Than Just a Car
But that's not the sole customization item from the show coming to the game. This limited-time event will additionally feature a set of objectives to earn additional rewards, all of which are Simpsons-themed. According to a official announcement, the missions will task players to "get as many centers and clears as there are The Simpsons seasons, gather boost canisters as if your navigation is set to the Simpson residence, and travel a specific distance worthy of picking up the ideal pastries!"
Although the complete list of challenge rewards isn't yet disclosed, here is what's been announced up to this point:
- Blinky antenna topper
- Homer's hedge-themed banner
- Waste wheels
- 20,000 experience points for each challenge
If the key art is a reliable guide, it appears players will also receive wheels featuring a television showing the show's title sequence, Kang and Kodos topper, a frosted doughnut trail, and rocket boosts inspired by smoldering rubber and Krusty's famous restaurant.
Event Timing and Fortnite Connection
This event lines up with the major Simpsons invasion of Fortnite, which includes a completely new playable area of Springfield, in addition to a 30-day Battle Pass. The Rocket League x The Simpsons event begins on November 1st and ends on November 17th.
